چکیده
Abstract Background Brachial plexus block has substituted general anesthesia in the majority of patients planned for upper limb surgeries as it avoids undesired effects medications used well stress response associated with airway manipulation. Opioid agonist–antagonists such nalbuphine are adjuvant to improve anesthetic properties bupivacaine. Verapamil an additive effect brachial blockade form decreasing consumption analgesics postoperative period reducing onset time and extending duration motor sensory blockade. The aim this study is investigate verapamil versus 0.5% bupivacaine regards onset, analgesic augmentation. randomized, prospective, double-blinded, comparative where 90 subjected arm, forearm hand were randomized into three groups, group A received 30 ml plain plus 2 normal saline, B equivalent 5 mg, C 10 mg diluted saline. Results showed that was 7.25 ± 1.5 vs. 10.92 3.84 min, P < 0.001 shorter than (13.2 2.66 min). In addition, (11.10 1.24 13.50 3.77 0.001) (17.16 1.30 B, 396 32.17 355.83 18.48 0.001, respectively longer (321.13 25.08 Also, there prolonged recording (338.92 25.2 302.93 15.24 (280.70 32.35 Time demand rescue analgesia dose significantly long (449.53 52.45 418.13 41.12 (361.31 21.42 Both have improving all parameters block. Conclusion drugs produce favorable enhancement effective prolongation extend superiority over verapamil.

Effect of Nalbuphine as Adjuvant to Bupivacaine for Ultrasound-Guided Supraclavicular Brachial Plexus Block
Background: Nalbuphine is a derivative of 14-hydroxymorphine which is a strong analgesic with mixed k agonist and μ antagonist. Nalbuphine was studied several times as adjuvant to local anesthetics in spinal, epidural and local intravenous block. The aim of this study was to evaluate the effect of nalbuphine as an adjuvant to local anesthetics in supraclavicular brachial plexus block. Patients ...

BACKGROUND Apha-2 agonists are combined with local anesthetics to extend the duration of regional anesthesia. We evaluated the effect of combining dexmedetomidine with levobupivacine with respect to duration of motor and sensory block and duration of analgesia. METHODS Sixty patients scheduled for elective forearm and hand surgery were divided into two equal groups in a randomized double blin...

متن کاملSupraclavicular brachial plexus block: a comparative clinical study between bupivacaine and levobupivacaine.
BACKGROUND AND OBJECTIVES Brachial plexus block is used in surgical procedures of the upper limbs. The brachial plexus is a potential territory for absorption of local anesthetics. Studies on bupivacaine isomers have shown reduced cardiovascular toxicity of its levorotatory form (levobupivacaine). However, the anesthetic efficacy (sensorial and motor blockades) of levobupivacaine in neuroaxis b...
